SYDNEY OFFICE RENTS TIPPED TO FALL AS MORE COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES VACANT

 Hey There,

I own an office property in the Sydney CBD and it has never been left vacant until recently. The month of April proved to be the worst period for me as my tenant asked to end the lease and move out due to financial losses. I had to oblige and allow him to leave. Anyway he was not able to pay the rent and it was not too hard to let him go. He owned a travel agency so it made sense for him to close down as international borders have been closed for a while now. It is a sad state of affairs, but what can be done! I tried hard to find a new tenant at the same rental amount, but nobody was willing to pay the same price. I was devastated as I needed this income to pay my bills and maintain my lifestyle. I spoke to my real estate agent and got to know that things had changed in the CBD and the rents were falling. He told me that besides offering a reduced rent, I should offer incentives to lure new tenants. I could not believe that something like this could happen in the CBD. If you too are concerned about the changing rental prices, then read the article shared below to know all about it.

Australia leader refuses to attack political foes over virus

Australia’s prime minister on Friday rejected demands from within his own conservative party to publicly attack the center-left Victoria state government over its flawed handling of the nation’s worst coronavirus outbreak and an economically damaging lockdown.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has been widely applauded for attempting to rise above party politics in the national response to the pandemic. State governments ruled by the conservative Liberal Party as well as those governed by the center-left Labor Party are sending nurses and other medical resources to Victoria, the only state struggling to curb a second wave of infections.

Coronavirus Australia: Caps on international arrivals to continue until at least October 24

International arrivals to Australia will remain banned or restricted to some capital cities for months under an extension of tough COVID-19 rules.

Restrictions on outbound travel by Australian citizens and permanent residents remain in place, once again suggesting that the chances of a trip to Bali or Fiji over the summer school holidays before a coronavirus vaccine is developed remain slim to none.

On Friday an extension to the extraordinary limits on international passenger arrivals was confirmed following a meeting of the Prime Minister and state premiers over video link.
