Fears of clashes as thousands of Australians set to attend protests in solidarity following George Floyd’s death

A peaceful protest planned in Australia following protests in the US has been cancelled over fears of clashes, as thousands of demonstrators are set to attend rallies across the country.

The march, which was planned for Sydney on Tuesday, was protesting against the misrepresentation of Indigenous Australians in the legal system, and standing in solidarity with murdered African American man George Floyd.

Since Floyd’s death last week, protests have erupted across the US and in major cities worldwide.
