Diverse women in mining stand out at International Mining and Resources Conference in Sydney

 Florence Drummond wants her Indigenous sisters to have a seat at the mining table.

She's the founder of Indigenous Women in Mining and Resources Australia (IWIMRA), a support network that helps Aboriginal women find a place in the resources sector.

"[We are] addressing that as a network for women, empowering women who are in the industry to stand strong and to speak up and to be confident in themselves."

The last few years have strained the relationship between Indigenous communities and big mining companies with the destruction of country and cultural sites problematic.
